Wong Kar-wai: A Reverse Shot Talkie
In this latest installment of the Reverse Shot Talkies video interview series—an exclusive presentation of Moving Image Source and Reverse Shot—legendary Hong Kong filmmaker Wong Kar-wai sits down with host Eric Hynes to talk about his latest feature, The Grandmaster. "Making this film was like swimming in winter," he says, describing his leap into unfamiliar martial-arts movie territory. Wong also discusses his cubistic approach to action sequences, his disinterest in telling a linear story, and how kung fu methodology comes in handy when he's being interviewed.
