Although its holdings have not been completely cataloged and are at present not available to the public, the website features information on the archive's tentative future as well as several articles pertaining to the history of Mexican cinema.

    This site, edited by Richard G. Elen (former editor of Broadcast Sound and a writer on broadcasting history), features articles about inventor John Logie Baird and the early days of television.
  • BFI Screenonline   Paid Subscription Required
    Screenonline, run by the British Film Institute, "is an online encyclopaedia of British film and television featuring hundreds of hours of film and television clips from the vast collections of the BFI National Archive, and several hours of recorded interviews with film and TV personalities". Although films may only be viewed by users at British universities, the rest of the website provides vast amounts of information pertaining to everything from comprehensive actors' filmographies to UK box-office statistics.

    A huge database featuring synopses and images of early television shows. Members can get film clips upon request.
  • Black Film Research Online  
    A database of online resources pertaining to the study of black cinema. Users can search for collections contained in archives, public libraries, and university libraries, as well as for more specific online content on black cinema festivals and retrospectives and online scholarly resources.
  • Boxoffice Magazine  
    A trade magazine for film-industry professionals, this magazine offers box office numbers and other information about the business side of production and exhibition.
  • British Universities Newsreel Database  
    Get information about the history of moving image journalism in the UK. Search a database of stories and interviews with British news reporters, dating back to 1910.

  • Cahiers du Cinema  
    The main page of the website for the influential French film magazine cofounded by André Bazin is available in multiple languages. Back issues can be ordered and are indexed and searchable in the archive (only available in French) by issue number, date, title, author, interviewer, film, director, or production year.
  • Canadian Film Encyclopedia  
    An online reference project from the Film Reference Library, a leading educator and research and information resource for Canadian film. Currently, the Canadian Film Encyclopedia includes over 750 film title, biographical, and subject entries, covering some of Canada's foremost historical and modern films and filmmakers. The CFE also includes original writing from Canadian film critics, professionals, academics, and theorists as well as a bibliography section featuring key print and electronic resources on Canadian film.
  • Chicago Reader Brief Reviews  
    The Chicago Reader's searchable archive of brief movie reviews contains more than 10,000 capsule reviews by current and past critics, including Jonathan Rosenbaum and Dave Kehr. Some full-length reviews, dating from 1988, are also available on the site.
  • Chronicling America  
    Search and read newspaper pages from 1900 to 1910 and find information about American newspapers published from 1690 to the present. Part of the National Digital Newspaper Program (NDNP).
  • CineAction  
    The Canadian journal CineAction aims for radical criticism and scholarship on moving image media including a range of cinemas and experimental film and video. Though their website does not archive full-text articles, the journal has indexed its entire catalogue online, and back issues can be ordered.
  • Cineaste  
    Cineaste is a quarterly film journal in publication since 1967 with reviews, articles, and interviews. Selected issues since 2001 are archived with article titles, authors, abstracts, and occassionally a few online, full-text articles. All issues back to 1976 are catalogued with keyword descriptions of articles.
  • Cinema / Turkish Cinema  
    This website run by Nezih Erdogan of Bilkent University collects a handful of essays (primarily by Erdogan) on the history and genres of Turkish cinema.
