  The Administrative Commission of Motion Picture Code of Ethics is a nongovernmental body responsible for the regulation of film and video in Japan. This website provides information on the commission.
• Digital Meme  
  As the only distributor of multilingual DVDs of early Japanese cinema, Digital Meme is an invaluable resource. In addition to making these films available to educators through DVD sales, Digital Meme also offers a film rental service.
• Japan Focus: An Asia Pacific E-journal  
  Japan Focus is a peer-reviewed online journal on subjects ranging "widely across the geopolitics, political economy, history, society, culture, and international relations of the Asia Pacific." The journal regularly features a number of articles on film and media in Asia.
• Kinema Club  
  Kinema Club is an association of scholars devoted to the study of Japanese cinema. This website collects a number of resources, ranging from a searchable bibliography of English-language writings on Japanese cinema to online syllabi and film reviews.
• Matsuda Film Productions: The Japanese Silent Films Site  
  Matsuda Film Productions is an archival rental house for silent Japanese cinema. Provides information on Matsuda's rental services and includes information on the historical context and development of early cinema in Japan.
• Midnight Eye  
  An online journal devoted to Japanese cinema. The site regularly features book and film reviews, interviews with Japanese filmmakers, and a calendar of upcoming screenings and DVD releases of Japanese films.
• Motion Picture Reprint Series (Center for Japanese Studies, University of Michigan)  
  The Motion Picture Reprint Series run by the Center for Japanese Studies at the University of Michigan reprints now out-of-print books on the history of Japanese cinema. These are available for download, and feature new introductions either by the author or another academic. This site also features reproductions of archival documents concerning the Japanese Pure Film Movement, and the film documentation produced by the United States government on the effects of the atomic bomb.
